With the camera’s significantly reduced sensitivity to ambient light*, the FLUOBEAM LX allows real-time visualisation of parathyroid glands using autofluorescence with operating lights switched on (without direct illumination of the surgical field). This avoids any interruption of the surgical workflow.

ICG mode
With the special ICG (indocyanine green) mode, the device enables visualisation of blood vessels and tissue parts. ICG is a fluorescent dye that is injected into the patient’s bloodstream. The FLUOBEAM LX camera has a special ICG contrast mode that can visualise the fluorescence of the dye on the monitor in real time. This technology enables surgeons to identify blood vessels, lymph nodes and tissue with high resolution. The combination of autofluorescence and ICG enables more parathyroid reimplantations.

The ergonomic shape and the arrangement of the control element are designed to support the user's natural movements. This enables intuitive and flexible control of the FLUOBEAM LX. Surgeons can switch between modes with a single hand movement and make important adjustments directly in the sterile field. The intuitive control allows users to concentrate on the essentials.
The camera unit of the FLUOBEAM LX is ergonomically shaped and easy to operate with the joystick during the surgery.

With a high frame rate for real-time display (25 frames/s) in autofluorescence and a high depth of field (> 5 cm), with the FLUOSOFT LX imaging software, surgeons can work in optimised conditions with an easy interpretation of images and manipulation of the device.

It is known in specialist circles that complications such as temporary or permanent postoperative hypocalcaemia are associated with the unintended removal of the parathyroid glands or the alteration of the vascular supply to these glands during thyroid surgery. This advanced technology helps surgeons to reduce the complication rate and aids to preserve the parathyroid glands. In addition, the system can make a positive contribution to deciding whether reimplantation is necessary.
