No, the MicroDrive can be used on all common ring-based stereotactic systems.
With a resolution of 50 µm, the inomed MicroDrive enables the neurosurgeons to precisely position the electrodes for deep brain stimulation, with tactile feedback after each rotation. The haptic feedback (a tactile “click”) allows the neurosurgeons to “feel” when a complete rotation of the MicroDrive has been completed.
In addition to various electrodes for MER recording, different biopsy instruments and HF brain electrodes can be used on the MicroDrive.
