Thanks to its three ablation channels, the VIVA multi RF Generator can be used flexibly for all applications. It has temperature and impedance control. The generator is specially designed for the Octopus electrodes and is suitable for both monopolar and bipolar applications. In addition, it is compatible with any 1-channel electrode. The generator has a special mode for thyroid RFA and liver RFA.

VIVA multi RF System

The versatile application of the VIVA multi RF System enables minimally invasive interventions with 3 channels and up to 400 watts of power. The radiofrequency generator is impedance-controlled and thus contributes to a high level of patient safety. The expansion with a foot switch enables optimal handling during the procedure. The system is complemented by a peristaltic pump. This makes it possible to cool any electrode internally in order to achieve an optimal ablation zone within each application field. The system is compatible with 3-channel electrodes (Octopus) and 1-channel electrodes (monopolar and bipolar).

Impedance monitoring
When a predefined impedance threshold is reached during ablation, the radiofrequency generator shuts off automatically. This ensures that no carbonisation takes place in the tissue and that the coagulated tissue can be broken down by the body’s own immune system in the best possible way.

Large lesions are possible
The power of the VIVA multi RF Generator is ideal for large lesions. Using the three channels, the radiofrequency generator can deliver targeted power to the diseased tissue via three electrodes and generate a highly precise ablation zone. Paired with the peristaltic pump, the electrodes are also cooled internally, enabling the best possible predictable ablation zone.
The VIVA multi RF System is ideal for large, multinodal lesions. Excellent results in combination with the Octopus RF Electrodes

Internal electrode cooling
All STARmed electrodes are equipped with a cooling system. This ensures reliable handling in all application fields. The cooling system makes it possible to achieve not only a large but also a linear spread of the ablation zone. However, the primary effect of cooling is to limit the tissue temperature so that necrosis but not carbonisation takes place in the tissue. This enables the body's immune system to break down the dead tissue.
The internal cooling of all STARmed electrodes results in a balanced ablation zone and temperature regulation.
