RF thermolesion using the example of trigeminal neuralgia

Trigeminal neuralgia is a chronic pain disorder of the trigeminal nerve, which is responsible for sensation in the face, the mucous membranes in the mouth and nose, and the cornea. The trigeminal nerve controls the majority of the masticatory muscles. Trigeminal neuralgia is characterised by severe, sudden pain in one or more branches of the trigeminal nerve.
