Stereoelectro­encephalography


Stereoelectroencephalography or stereotactic electroencephalography (sEEG) is a modern diagnostic procedure in functional neurosurgery that is used to precisely identify epileptic foci in the brain. This procedure plays a central role in the planning of epilepsy surgery, especially for patients with treatment-resistant epilepsy. The aim of sEEG is to precisely localise the epileptogenic zone and determine its relationship to functionally important areas of the brain.
