The cutting-edge ALM (Advanced Laryngeal Monitoring) technology combines highly precise signal recording in thyroid surgery with intelligent software to provide a reliable nerve response signal. More than 25 years of expertise have resulted in Advanced Laryngeal Monitoring, an effective connection between the electrode tube and the IONM system using the intelligent Channel Select Software.

The power of synergy – where advanced technologies combine

When using the ALM technology, users benefit from the combined effects of inomed’s individual key technologies. The ALM Tube or the Laryngeal Electrode Select, used in combination with the C2 Xplore and the C2 Channel Select Software, complement each other perfectly and ensure efficient application in thyroid surgery.

The interaction of the components proves its informative value, especially during recurrent laryngeal nerve neuromonitoring or during monitoring of the superior laryngeal nerve.

8 contacts – 4 channels – 1 best signal

The ALM Tube, a multifunctional combination of PVC endotracheal tube with surface electrodes, and the Laryngeal Electrode Select, an adhesive electrode designed for all common endotracheal tubes, enable optimal EMG recording. Thanks to the easy placement on the vocal cords using the 8 long measuring contacts, the ALM Tube and the Laryngeal Electrode Select provide reliable signal recording at the vocal muscle during intraoperative neuromonitoring in thyroid surgery. The 360° sensor coverage ensures signal stability, even if the tube is rotated or shifted vertically during the procedure.

The 8 measuring contacts form 4 channels, of which the channel with the best signal is automatically displayed by the Channel Select Software on the C2 Xplore. In addition to being displayed, the signal is also output acoustically via the C2 Xplore. This technology is available for intermittent and continuous neuromonitoring. The DELTA-Electrode, which is attached to the vagus nerve for cIONM, delivers continuous stimulation that can be processed by the ALM technology.
