Stereotactic Systems
inomed offers three different types of stereotactic sytems:

ZD Stereotactic System
Easy Handling with high precision

The design reflects the utmost attention to detail, not only in its overall structure but also in its safe, uncomplicated use and easily acquired handling skills. A small MR-compatible ceramic headring allows imaging even in the most modern MRI scanners. The ZD Sytem, according to Zamorano und Duchovny is based on the centre-of-arc principle. This provides almost unrestricted access to all the intracranial areas while, at the same time, permitting complete freedom of choice as regards the trepanation point.
The ZD aiming unit stands out by virtue of its practical, safe functionality. The single-point method of attachment to the headring enables the aiming unit to be mounted in any one of four positions on the ring. This permits completely unrestricted access to all parts of the cranium from any direction. A check with the target point simulator, which can be performed at any time during an intervention, provides highest safety.

Target point simulator
The target point simulator is an important aid to check the adjusted stereotactic coordinates. By this means, potential confusions between the left and right sides can be excluded, together with the use of curved instruments incapable of being directed to the target area. It also permits the stereotactic coordinates to be determined from burr holes in the operating theatre, without repeating the imaging procedure.
Moreover, the headring incorporated in the target point simulator can also be used as an additional patient’s headring at any time. The modular ZD System from inomed includes a wide ranging selection of special purpose instruments and sets of instruments, biopsy sets with forceps, biopsy probes with side cutting windows, spiral probes and many others. All are distinguished by uncompromising quality, functional design and ease of use, incorporating the many years of experience obtained with the ZD System.
RM Stereotactic System
Easy Handling with High Precision

The RM System possesses a 3 point fixation. This gives the system a very high stability and the highest precision. The system is based on the polar coordinate principle. It was developed by the famous stereotactic professors Traugott Riechert and Fritz Mundinger.
Utmost precision and compliance to high demands in stereotaxy distinguish the system. The characteristic of the RM aiming bow is his flexibility. Side angle, height angle and inclination horizontal and inclination vertical are freely selectable. This feature enables uncompromising accesses.
The RM system is one of the most precise targeting systems, specially designed for stereotactic interventions in neurosurgery. Equipment to perform brachytherapy can be adapted. The extreme accuracy and stability of the whole system is especially recommended for interventions in functional stereotaxy.
Features:
- Polar coordinate system, which enables five set-up parameters for more precision
- 3 point fixation for high stability
- Trepanation in target direction
- MicroDrive with depth sensor for Micro Electrode Recording
- Target point verification with target point simulator
- Free of artefacts, optimized for medical imaging
- Compatible with Inomed Planning Software IPS and Stereoplan Plus®
OSS Open Stereotactic System

MRI compatible ceramics solution
The open stereotactic system is designed to be used in CT and MRI scanners. The small diameter of the headring makes the system suitable for even the smallest MRI head coils.
The open head ring is made a high tech ceramics, which gives excellent mechanical stability and artefact rejection in general. Using interface components, like the closing segment, the system is with the available adaptions compatible to all of the traditional stereotactic products such as the ZD and RM aiming devices. The open design gives the patient more freedom in the facial area and allows the surgeon to plan approaches that are not possible with a conventional closed ring. A special CT and MRI compatible localizer provides simplicity.
