As a pioneer within the range "intraoperative monitoring" (IOM) inomed is market leader since 1996 in the field of surgery. For the monitoring of the vocal cord nerve (recurrent laryngeal nerve) in thyroid surgery, as well as for the monitoring of other motor cranial nerves, inomed devices and special instruments were developed, which are used today during function-critical operations in various surgical fields.

A new equipment generation of the type ISIS is used for the monitoring of brain and spinal cord functions as well as for the localization and control of peripheral nerves by continuous and fast measurement of EMG, AEP, SEP, VEP, EEG, and MER during the operation. For the physiological navigation during stereotactic operations, microelectrodes are used to identify brain cells activity to localize targets in the brain.
