Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm surgery (TAAA)

inomed has developed an electrophysiological early warning system to protect the spinal cord from dysfunctions due to ischemia during Thoracoabdominal Aortic Aneurysm surgery (TAAA).

Continuous recording of somatosensory evoked potentials (SEP) and motor evoked potentials (MEP) can signalise the beginning of a spinal ischemia during thoraco and thoracoabdominal aorta interventions.

Spinal neuromonitoring is an important help during the intervention. It enables the surgeon to evaluate directly the effectiveness of the ischemia protective measures taken.
