Perineal Anal Plastic During Paedriatric Surgery

The medical expression for this procedure is Posterior Sagittal Ano Recto Plastic (PSARP). This operation is performed at newborns, born without anus. The sphincter muscle is localized by electrical stimulation, split in the middle and lounged around the prepared rectum.

The sphincter is first localised with a selective bipolar (or monopolar) stimulation prior to the cut, and then it is being stimulated also during surgery for continuous control.
